Partnering with char.gy

Consultation

We work closely with local government partners to understand their goals, priorities, and long-term plans. Using our experience in delivering residential charging infrastructure, we create practical and flexible solutions tailored to each area. This collaborative approach ensures we make the best use of LEVI public funding alongside private sector investment.

Demand Planning

Deciding where to install charge points, when to install them, and how many are needed is complex. Getting demand planning right is essential to making projects viable. We use our own technology platform and in-house data experts to accurately forecast future EV demand, right down to postcode level.

This insight gives us the confidence to invest in projects and expand our network. It also allows us to install more charge points across more streets, including in underserved and hard-to-reach areas, helping ensure fair access to charging for everyone, everywhere.

Investment Case Development

A strong investment case requires both parties need to consider the commercial and community impacts of the project, as well as the contract. We work closely with local governments to shape a project that works for everyone, supported by indepth commercial modelling that encourages high performance, long-term stability, and lasting value.

Deploy and Operate

Once the concession starts, char.gy takes on the technology and revenue risk, installing, operating, and maintaining the public charging network on behalf of the partnership. We have extensive experience delivering on-street charging at scale, with established processes, dedicated in-house teams, and a strong track record of reliable deployment across the UK.

While our service is delivered against agreed KPIs, our focus on quality is driven by our operational experience and our commitment to being the preferred charging provider for drivers. We design and run our network around convenience, reliability, and value for money, and we continuously apply lessons learned from real-world delivery to improve performance over time.

Our Funding

char.gy is backed by Zouk Capital and has secured £100 million in investment through the UK Government–backed Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund (CIIF), established in 2019 to accelerate the rollout of EV charging infrastructure. This long-term funding places us in a strong position to build lasting partnerships with local governments and expand access to public on-street charging across the UK.

Dedicated exclusively to network growth, the investment provides the financial strength to deliver commercially sustainable and socially impactful charging infrastructure that supports the UK’s transition to electric mobility over the coming years.

My team trusts char.gy to manage the full process from selecting locations, undertaking technical surveys, liaising with residents, managing installations and providing all maintenance...
