char.gy has been appointed by Devon Council to operate and maintain EV charge points across the County.

Our Pricing
To keep charging smooth and secure, we now place a temporary £25 pre-authorisation on your payment card when you start a charging session (including Apple Pay, Google Pay, and saved cards). This isn't a charge - it simply confirms your card before charging begins.
After your session, you'll only pay for the energy you used. Any unused amount is automatically released and typically returned to your card within 3-5 days (up to 10, depending on your bank). If your session exceeds £25, an additional £25 pre-authorisation will be applied so charging can continue.

- Keep sessions starting smoothly and securely
- Prevent payment delays or card errors
- Maintain a reliable network when you need it most
